Welcome to ARCYP

Welcome to the new website for the Association for Research in Cultures of Young People (ARCYP). This home page will be updated with news on a regular basis.

The Association for Research in Cultures of Young People (ARCYP) was founded in 2008 by a group of scholars to promote the study of and research in young peoples’ cultures and texts, in Canada and internationally, across a range of disciplines, and to build an understanding of such scholarship that defines “young people,” “culture,” and “text” broadly. Its secondary aim is to create interdisciplinary spaces for advocates, activists, and scholars to exchange research on young peoples’ cultures and texts, and to create opportunities for collaborations between academic scholars and members of community organizations that work with young people’s cultures and texts. Led by President Mavis Reimer, who is also Canada Research Chair in Cultures of Childhood, the association is currently managed within and supported by the Centre for Research in Young People’s Texts and Cultures (CRYTC) at the University of Winnipeg.
